New York notaries must upload a picture of their notary signature instead of utilizing the default signature. Notaries can update their signatures when entering their password to sign the exemplar document
Starting on January 31, 2023, Notaries in New York can apply to perform remote online notarizations (RON). Follow the steps below to become an electronic Notary Public in NY.
- To become a Remote Online Notary in New York, you must hold an existing commission as a traditional Notary Public.
- You must select a RON platform that meets state requirements.
- You must also provide the Secretary of State with a $60 application fee.
